The implementation of the 2020 TAP is overseen by a Joint Management Group. This group comprises representatives from the statutory management authorities with responsibilities under the Action Plan, as well as the Lakes Waterways Action Group. Reviewing and reporting on the actions
Under the 2020 TAP, each statutory management authority is required to report to the Joint Management Group on the following
- The actions is has undertaken in the past financial year, or those that are still in progress.
- Any actions that will be undertaken in the next financial year and included in their key planning documents.
The Joint Management Group released its inaugural Annual Report on progress towards implementing the 2020 TAP in November 2006. The JMG released its last Annual Report in November 2007.
Tracking progress towards the achieving the community values
The JMG commissioned ‘APR Consultants to prepare the 2020 Taupo-nui-ā-Tia Monitoring and Reporting Plan. This plan outlines how the JMG will monitor progress towards achieving the community values and report the results back to the community.
Taupo Times articles
In 2006 the Taupo Times published a series of articles about the implementation of the 2020 TAP. These articles have been part of Council Times, a larger advertisement about the activities of the Taupo District Council, recognising the council is a key partner to the 2020 TAP.
