| Condition Description: |
The activities shall be undertaken in general accordance with the document entitled "Rotoaira Channel Desiltation, Consent Application Assessment of Environmental Effects", prepared by Genesis Power Limited and dated October 2001, and submitted as part of the application except where otherwise required by conditions of this consent. |

The consent holder shall undertake the following turbidity monitoring programme whenever this consent is being exercised:Turbidity shall be measured: upstream of the dredging works, at a location unaffected by the dredging works and the discharge authorised by consent 106385; and 100 metres downstream of the dredging works within any visible sediment plume resulting from the dredging works.Monitoring shall occur daily at least one hour after works have commenced for that day. No monitoring need occur on any day that the consent is not exercised. |

Records of the turbidity measured in accordance with condition 4 above shall be kept including: date and time of measurement; location of the monitoring point; and turbidity measured in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). |

The consent holder shall forward the results of the monitoring undertaken in accordance with condition 4 and 5 above to the Lake Rotoaira Trust, Lake Rotoaira Forest Trust, representatives of adjacent landowners and Ngati Tuwharetoa representatives on the Tuwharetoa-Genesis Group at the completion of the dredging programme or as otherwise requested. |

| Condition Description: |
In combination with the effect of any discharge under consent 106385, the turbidity measured in accordance with condition 4 above at the point 100 metres downstream of the dredging operation shall not exceed 10 NTU or twice the background reading, whichever is the greater. |
