| Objective: |
To characterise water levels and water quality of selected geothermal bores and springs. |
| Rationale: |
Water levels are monitored for four bores in the Taupo township, five bores in the Wairakei area, and three bores in the Ohaaki area on a six weekly basis. A vertical temperature profile is measured at one Taupo bore every visit. Waipahihi, Kathleen and Spa springs are monitored for discharge, temperature and visual condition. There is an automatic level/flow recorder on the Otumuheke Stream, downstream from AC Baths. |
