Help assess the effectiveness of catchment and lake management initiatives |
| Rationale: |
The exclusively native aquatic plant communities of Lakes Rotopounamu and Kuratau are unique in a Waikato Region. The evaluation and ongoing monitoring of these communities provides an insight into the ecological condition of the lakes and also provides a useful surveillance tool for determining incursions of exotic species quickly.
